Conway, SC (November 9, 2018) - The Horry County Sheriff’s Office warns you about a circulating scam.
The sheriff’s office has gotten calls of concern for scammers targeting certain members of the community. Here’s what happens: Your phone rings. You answer it. The scammer claims there is a warrant for your arrest OR a bench warrant by Horry County judges. The scammer then claims you owe money because of said warrants. This is a scam! Do not send money or give out your information. Typically, the Horry County Sheriff’s Office won’t call you about a warrant. Don’t be duped. Call 843-915-5450 if you receive a call like this or if you have questions. |
